PVHS and Ian Hassett Foundation back button

Art will transcend life at Pioneer Valley High School on Wednesday, September 19th.

An art trailer from the Ian Hassett Foundation stocked with free supplies is scheduled to be on campus for students. The young artists will be able to select whatever they need.

“This provides a great opportunity for low-income artists to get quality supplies,’’ said student Jennifer Oropeza.

Student Charlene Collado agreed, adding “it allows students to get supplies for free so they can utilize them as a creative outlet.’’

Panther Art Teacher George Karamitsos said this is the second time the foundation’s trailer has visited the campus.

Ian was a talented and exceptional art student at Righetti High School and later at AHC. Sadly, he lost his battle with cancer at 19 in 2012. His parents and friends then created a foundation in his memory to provide free art supplies, grants, shows and offer classes to disabled adults in the community.
