The thrill of flight will be on display when the US Army brings its mobile aviation and simulation systems to Pioneer Valley High School on Thursday, Oct. 4th.
The 30-ton tractor and trailer has an AH 64 Helicopter Flight Simulator, an Unmanned Aerial vehicle Flight Simulator, various touch screen and weapons displays.
“Students are going to get a behind the scenes tour of the equipment and technology that is being used by the US Army's Aviation Unit,’’ said Mandy McDonald, of the school’s College and Career Center. “They will have an opportunity to explore not only the equipment but use touch screen career navigators. The simulators will have a real feel with the high tech computers to give the feeling of being in a real helicopter and experience the thrill of piloting.’’
