Avid Trip to Levi Stadium back button

SMJUHSD Avid students and their peers recently took over Levi Stadium for the PAC-12 Championship Sports Career Education Day and College Fair in the San Francisco Bay Area.

About 200 Saints, Panthers and Warriors participated in workshops focusing on leadership, communication, risk taking and other skills. The group also toured the stadium, museum and the inner-workings of the facility.

“The experience was amazing,’’ said Panther Angelica Martinez Ruiz. “I liked it when the coordinators shared their experiences of how they became who they are today. What I will take from this is knowing that sports actually have more careers to them than just the actual sport. I know now that if I majored in finance or engineering, there could be a spot for me in the business of sports.’’

After the hard work, the students enjoyed the championship football game between the Utah Utes and Washington Huskies.

The trip was paid for through LCAP, according to LCFF Task Force Coordinator Steve Molina.
