Four SMHS Family and Consumer Science students were victorious at a recent regional Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) competition in Vacaville.
The FCCLA is a national career, technical and personal growth organization with 160,000 members in 49 states.
Junior Anahid Pacheco earned 1st place in the job interview category, senior Bernize Reyes seized 1st place in salad preparation, senior Katherine Castillo scored 2nd place in review portfolio and freshman Bernardina Hernadez placed 4th in table display and menu planning.
"I was so happy to see how many students came to the competition from all over California,’’ Pacheco said. "I was so excited to receive first place in my job interview competition and I cannot wait to go to the FCCLA State Competitions in April.’’
Teacher Erin Tobias said she is "proud of these students for their hard work inside and outside the classroom."
