Rocketing into High School back button

August 1, 2019 (Best time to come is from 1 to 2 p.m. on August 6th because that is when the teachers say the kids will be finishing up the rockets they built.)

Incoming freshman students heading towards ERHS, PVHS and SMHS will be “Rocketing into High School” on August 5th and 6th.

Science teachers and students plan to explore the wonders of science and participate in the NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards) Engineering Design Challenge. The experience involves students building rockets for the competition.

About 35 students and six SMJUHSD science teachers plan to participate in the event that will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day at PVHS.

“It’s all about having fun with science and learning that it is accessible to all,’’ said ERHS Science Department Chair Rebecca Wingerden. “This is going to be an engaging experience.’’
