SMHS students will be urged to “Think Big” on Thursday (November 20).
Two school assemblies featuring the “ithinkbig.org” organization are planned in the gym. The presentations focus on inspiring students to dream bigger and make the right choices in their lives. The activities include speakers who will share their struggles and accomplishments.
Activity Director Adrian Salazar believes the programs will allow students to embrace their past, current and future choices in life.
“Many of our students come from disadvantaged or first generation families,’’ Salazar said. “Assemblies like this one reach out to these students and show them what life in the future may look like if they dream bigger and make the right choices.’’
ASB President Gerardo Nevarez said students plan to make the most of the experience.
“We are looking forward to this assembly because opportunities to have motivational speakers like them do not come often to our school,’’ Nevarez said.
The first assembly is from 8:45 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. and the second is planned from 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
