PVHS Europe Trip back button

Several Pioneer Valley High School students recently returned from the trip of a lifetime.

The students traveled to Europe for 10 days and spent time in London, Paris, Milan, Florence and Rome where they experienced language and culture.

The young adventurers enjoyed the Louvre, Buckingham Palace, the Vatican, crossed the English Channel in an underwater train called the Chunnel and other sites as part of a tour with students from across the country.

Teacher Roxanna Maldonado said the students, who are part of the school’s Travel Club, had been planning the trip for more than a year. During that time, guest speakers provided them with information about culture, language and travel.

“It was an amazing adventure,’’ Maldonado said. “These are first-hand experiences they will never forget. The idea of travel has been an ongoing interest in my life. I thought that it would be a great opportunity for PV students to experience the world beyond their immediate surroundings and gain a greater appreciation of culture. They represented PVHS, Santa Maria, California and the United States to all of Europe.’’
