Warrior Football Community Outreach back button

Varsity Righetti High School football players will show youth what being a student athlete is all about today.

The Warriors and Coach Ed Herrmann plan to spend time with students at nearby Ralph Dunlap Elementary School and participate in activities.

The players will work with the youngsters to promote participation in physical fitness, study habits, self-discipline and responsibility. Team members will wear their jerseys and be there from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

“It’s an honor to be a role model to the community and be part of the Righetti family,’’ said Jordan Gutierrez, who is a member of the offensive line.

Herrmann knows participating in community outreach is an important part of the high school experience for his players.

“This gives our student athletes a chance to go out into the community and show that we are built for much more than Friday nights,’’ Herrmann said. “This teaches our players the value of community service. We know the younger students look up to high school students and athletes and we are excited to have this opportunity.’’

Herrmann performed similar outreach as a player during high school in Philadelphia.
