SMHS Winter Concert back button

The community is invited to get into the holiday spirit with the Santa Maria High School Jazz Ensemble and Concert Band on Thursday night, Dec. 3.

The Winter Concert, which has become a tradition for the Santa Maria Valley, begins at 6:30 p.m. inside the historic Ethel Pope Auditorium. Non-holiday music will also be played.

Nearly 80 student musicians are participating, according to Director of Bands Aaron Thomas.

Musician Azriella de la Peña and the rest of the band members say they are ready to share what they have worked hard learning.

“It’s the holiday season and what better way to get in the spirit than listening to the joyous music,’’ the senior said. “It’s important to give back to our community musically.’’

Tickets are $5 for ages 6 and up. Admission is free for children 5 and under.
