Two young ladies from the Righetti High School Soccer Team will soon be kicking goals on and off the field in college.
Krissie Miranda and Alexandra Stewart plan to sign National Letters of Intent at 4:30 p.m. this Wednesday inside the Sword and Shield. Miranda has chosen Clarion University in Pennsylvania and Stewart is headed to California Lutheran University, according to Athletic Director Joe Graack. Miranda believes a lot of dedicated people deserve credit for her success.
“I would like to thank my coaches for always pushing me to do my best and my mother for helping me out and never letting me quit,’’ Miranda said. Clarion Head Coach Sean Esterhuizen believes Miranda has what it takes.
“She’s very competitive and hardworking,’’ Esterhuizen said. “What has impressed me most is her work ethic, maturity, leadership, respect for teammates and coaches. She is a true Warrior!’’ Stewart also credits those close to her for success too.
“My family and coaches are the best supporters in the world,’’ Stewart said.
Coach Leo Avila described Alexandra as the best “complete” player in Pac-8 Conference.
“It was an honor being her coach,’’ Avila said. “I know she will be successful academically and in her soccer career.’’
