PVHS All Club BBQ back button

More than 20 PVHS student clubs and organizations are joining forces to grill up barbecue to raise funds for their programs on Saturday, Nov.4th.

The annual event helps the students supplement activities like trips in addition to usual fundraising efforts. It will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. inside the Panther cafeteria. A sandwich and chips is $8.

Research shows that students who have pride and ownership in their school stay in school, experts say.

“Membership in a club helps to make a student feel a sense of belonging to PVHS, giving them more reason to attend school,’’ said Panther Activity Director Lisa Walters, adding students must maintain a 2.0 GPA to be a club member. “Many students don’t play a sport, but they can play drums, act in a play, or do community service. Clubs allow them to find other students who have the same interests.’’

More than 400 students are participating and they hope to raise $7,500. Last year, 37 clubs were involved and they raised $10,000.
