PVHS welding skills were on display for younger students during El Camino Jr. High School Career Day recently.
Three Panthers from the Advanced Ag Mechanics Class including one who is on the Welding Team joined Allan Hancock students and Melfred Borzall staff for the event to help the youngsters build metal airplanes, which they could later customize.
“Our students were excellent teachers and were touched to see how thrilled the El Camino students were to take home their own airplanes that they welded,’’ said Agriculture Teacher Christine Linne. “They worked hard side by side with AHC students, staff and Melfred Borzall employees and they held their own. It was very rewarding for them to see how excited the El Camino students were and they are eager to do this again.’’
The high school students and others, who all used a mobile welding trailer, also instructed some of the teachers and guests.
