PVHS students and staff have joined forces with PG & E to investigate the weather.
From 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on March 27, science students will learn about a weather balloon, what it does and then release it.
PG & E also plans to recognize Science Teacher Riccardo Magni for a $1,000 grant request he wrote. PG & E then donated the funds to the Panthers to purchase a new weather station that’s already operational on top of the 400 building. It reports data to the PVHS website.
The old weather station needed to be upgraded. It was 12 years old and not working correctly.
Students or staff can use it to check the weather, but some Earth Science and Math classes use the station to gather data for projects. AP Environmental Science has also used the data for projects.
