This year, Righetti FFA took 16 students to the 90th Annual State FFA Conference in Anaheim and joined more than 8,000 FFA members statewide from April 22nd to the 25th.

At the California FFA State Leadership Conference, the FFA members participated in general sessions, educational leadership workshops, a career show and engaged in delegate sessions to accomplish the business of the California FFA Association.

During the three-day career show in the convention center, only seven schools were chosen to display an educational booth. Members from Righetti FFA put together a “Hall of Chapters” booth, which highlighted the Viticulture industry in California.

Two members, Carolina Lemus and Jazzlynn Franco, also took part in the Delegate process for CA FFA. The delegation is comprised of two voting delegates from each chartered FFA chapter (330 chapters) along with 13 State FFA Executive Committee members. Students convene to share ideas and perspectives that will ensure the continued progress of the association. The delegates had a separate schedule as they experienced what goes on in the delegation process for the association.

On stage, Eric Velazquez was recognized for being a state finalist in his Proficiency in the area of Diversified Crop Production. The sessions also highlighted members with a State FFA Talent. Kayleigh Hollum filled the arena with her voice as she sang and preformed “Broken Halos” for the large crowd.

“Overall, this conference was a great experience for all of our members where they got to “Activate” their leadership skills,’’ said RHS FFA Reporter Carolina Lemus.

The conference had been held in Fresno for 23 years. But, it had outgrown the location and made 
the switch to the City of Anaheim where it will be held for another two years. The location change to the Anaheim included a fun-filled afternoon at Disney’s California Adventure, all included in the
conference registration.
