ERHS FFA Members Recognized during State FFA Leadership Conference

Righetti High School FFA members were recently recognized for their website, proficiency awards, scholarships, and two state officer candidates during the 95th California FFA State Leadership Conference in Ontario, California (March 15-19).
Righetti FFA was named the State Star Website winner for their FFA chapter website. The website is designed and maintained by Jada Sanchez, Chapter President. It contains information about agricultural pathways, livestock information, career development events, scholarships, and a calendar of FFA events that is accessible to all students, parents, and the community.
Savannah Taylor, senior, was named the state winner in the proficiency area of Agricultural Communications. Savannah created “One Seed Away” an agricultural blog that discusses and promotes agricultural topics. She has brought in over 7,000 viewers through social media to promote content. Her interests include writing, content creation, and influencing her community around her about agriculture. She will be moving onto the national level this fall in her award area.
Jada Sanchez, senior, was named a state finalist and regional winner in the proficiency area of diversified horticulture. Jada grows plants in her school's greenhouse and creates floral arrangements for members and events in the community.
Jada and Savannah were also named State Scholarship winners and were awarded their plaques on stage during the state conference sessions. Jada won a $5,000 scholarship from The Almond Board of California, and Savannah won a $2,000 scholarship from the Zenith Insurance Company.
Adrena Longoria and Jada Sanchez were chosen as one of the 31 candidates selected state-wide to go through in-person interviews during the state conference in Ontario, CA. They completed a few rounds of in-person interviews and demonstrated their leadership abilities amongst a Nominating Committee selected to serve the California FFA Association. Adrena and Jada were also awarded plaques for the time they served as South Coast Regional Officer, serving as Santa Barbara Section Vice President and Treasurer.
