Santa Maria Joint Union High School District employs two classifications of employees:
Certificated Employees hold positions that require a specific authorization, credential, permit, certificate, or waiver depending on the assignment. These positions are typically related to instruction (i.e., teachers, counselors, administrators, psychologists, etc.).
Classified Employees hold positions that do not require a specific authorization, credential, permit, certificate, or waiver. These positions may be either instructional or non-instructional (i.e., clerical, custodial, maintenance, food service, business, instructional support, technology, etc.).
