The Santa Maria Joint Union High School District is looking to fill a vacancy on its five-member Board of Education. On August 1, 2023, the Board announced its intention to begin the process of provisionally appointing an interested candidate to fill the vacated seat. Interested candidates were invited to complete an application packet and submit it to the District Office by 4:00 pm on August 30, 2023.
No later than September 18, 2023, an advisory committee will post the names of the eligible candidates who will be invited to participate in an interview. During the week of September 25, 2023, the Board will interview candidates for the vacant position in open session. The Board will, at that time, consider making a provisional appointment.
The Board is responsible for ensuring the District operates effectively and efficiently. Trustees commit a significant amount of time, energy, effort and dedication to ensure that the District can appropriately serve our community.
